Goods received can come from a Purchase Order, Transfer Order, or an Assembly Order (when the assembly is completed). Provide your customer with an estimate (sometimes called a "Quote"). Turn an estimate into a Sales Order. You can pick a Sales Order, Transfer Order, or Assembly Order. And each order can have multiple picks (in case there is a stock out and you have to complete the order over time). Create a shipping document. Use an integration app to connect to ship tracking software. Send your customer an invoice as part of the shipping process. No need to wait for the finance team. Use an integration app to connect with your accounting software. Every movement of inventory creates a transaction. This is an item's story. How did it get here? When did it get here? Where did it get stored? When was it picked? When was it used in an assembly? When was it shipped? You get the picture. A basic but helpful list of different units of measure to help keep that data consistent.
